Fits my style of play.........

20oz is the preferred weight for me. I find with my loose grip and wrist, the cue's weight is perfect for my stroke. The weight of the cue carries the momentum of my stroke. Kind of like a controlled throw. None of my shots are pushes, the cue is in sort of a throwing motion which is an extra plus for me because it's a lot easier to follow through the CB naturally instead of guiding it by controlling it with my arm. The momentum allows for the cue to go straight through the desired path. I find when I use a lighter cue that I tend to grip tighter and I use my arm more to guide it instead of the momentum of the cue and that really hinders me not only from being accurate but from putting much need action on the ball. I've been told numerous times that my stroke is very similar to Efren's slip stroke. Although I wish mine would produce the same exact results that his stroke does for him! Oh well, I can always dream right!?

Pat,

This is exactly the part that I remember about using a lighter cue. I felt I needed to *push* the cue through the cue ball, instead of just letting the momentum take it past the cue ball. It's almost like there was no momentum with a light cue.

I think the grip preference is a big key with the weight, too. While there are *some* that grip a light cue very loose, I believe the majority hold it tighter (maybe even gripping it right at impact so they don't even know it?) than they would need to hold a heavier cue.
