Helena, and Widow not in Womens Challenge of Champs?

Has Jeanette not fully recovered from her back surgery and has Julie's and Ga Young Kim's record been better than Helena Thornfeld's this year?

Getting ready to leave for the Mohegan sun shortly, should be a great tournament. I predict a Karen Corr and Alison Fisher final. And I'll give the edge to Corr and predict she wins it.

I am pretty sure they take the top four. Not sure when the cut-off is though.

You are wayyyy underestimating Ga Young.

I agree with your insinuation that JK doesn't belong...but GYK is no f'ing joke.

The field for the Women's Challenge of Champions in any given year is based on the previous WPBA season, not the current. The first way to qualify is to win an event. Those winning a tournament in 2004 were Fisher, Corr, Kim, Kelly and Lee. Jeanette is injured, but the other four get into the field because they won at least one event. Selections are only based on ranking for non-winners, who fill any remaining spots.

I wasn't insinuating at all that Julie didn't belong. She's a great player.
And it shows I was way off. Julie and Ga Young Kim in final and
Ga Young Kim takes home the 25,000, She played awesome and your right, I very much underestimated her game. I haven't seen her play much and she plays awesome. What a great stroke, pattern play, game strategy, focus, safety play, great jumping ability.
The few "bad" shots she made, and there wasn't many. She made little upset face and shook it right off.

Thanks for the info SJM, I didn't know the criteria for inclusion in the tournament.
Since its invitational and not a WPBA event, can they if they see fit, invite a player that is lower ranked or hasn't won a tournament over a player that has won a tournament or is higher ranked right?
Say for example they wanted to invite a more flashy player because they are a crowd favorite and will bring in more tv viewers and the player didn't have a win for the year and say a less flashy player had a better record or a win.

No, Chris, they can't. The player selection criteria are part of the contract between the WPBA and the proprietors of the event. To get into this event, you have to win something. Non-winners may get in based on WPBA ranking, but only if spots remain unfilled after the event winners are invited.

AZB has reported that Ga Young Kim has won the Challenge of Champions. At twenty two, she has already won the World Championship, the US Open and the Challenge of Champions. Most imprressive!

I just saw Jeanette a couple of weeks ago and she is still having some pain/discomfort from the surgery. I think more than anything she is going to have some problems with stamina for a while. Being the competitor she is though, you can bet that she will be back out as soon as she can! And would anyone doubt that when she does get back, she will be back at the top of her game! One of the hardest working players in the game......

Well i go for Allison, she is on the roll this year, what she only lost one tour stop this year. Can't wait for this event though, i know Allison beat her in the finals twice before Jeanette took it from Allison. Should be a gooder one
