HELP! Adding pictures?

I'm trying to add some pictures to a post and gettin an error. The jpg is just over 5MB. Any ideas?

its too big. 100k max

5mb is a big pic for a message board and the net

just open the picture youre tryin to upload in paint and go to file/save as and save it as JPEG.the picture shouldnt be over 1mb unless its monster
