Good mornings AZ'ers,

I was going to post this help request in 'ask the cue maker' but know the main gets way more action and I could probably get suggestions faster.

My friend handed this to me to replace butt cap last evening and wants me to get it handled. He asked me if I had any idea on year built and maker and I told him I would look into it and could use your help.

I have 2nd edition BB but am not having any luck. Pin reminds me of the early Helmstetter/Adams cues. Points appear well done and razor sharp. Butt is kind of throwing me off as is the red wrap and the bolt looks somewhat unique.

Here are a few pic's. Any ideas would be appreciated. Not sure if this cue is worth putting the money into.

Early Viking maybe? I don't know exactly their build from the early days but the red wrap and design looks Vikingish. From the looks of things it needs a full refinish not just a new butcap, there looks to be no finish over the pints or not much at all.

Appreciate the help

Thank you @Hang-The-9. Great find @Tim913. Appears to be the Adams R/A-11 Riviera on Jayman's old 2006 post but with red wrap. I was leaning towards 70's Adam with the pin. Flipped right by the bottom of page 115 in the 10 pages of Adams. Not cheap cue back in the day. Had a few old Adams over the years and they play pretty good.

Yes, it looks like someone took some paper to it at one time or another but it is not down to wood. Probably take it down and finish it with some Watco clear hand rub finish. That stuff worked very nice on 2 SP's I just refinished.

Again, thanks for help gentlemen and good shooting:thumbup:
