Help I want to play rotation

Can anyone please explain to me how to play rotation. I know you shoot the lowered number ball first and you count the value of each ball. Whoever gets 61 points wins.

Now, where I get confuse is I remember you can spot the ball or something in a bad shot correct? This is embarassing because I'm Filipino and I used to play this game when I was a kid when we were still residing in the Philippines.

I have an excuse though, I haven't played this game in 14 years. :)
 
If you foul on a shot, the ball that was made spots on the foot spot (apex ball in rack) or as close as you can get it in a direct line between there and the foot rail. Subsequent balls spot behind that one. If the cue ball goes off the table, it's ball in hand behind the head string.
 
I could've sworn someone else just posted the very same question 2 days ago. You should look it up.
