Help ID model and original retail value of Pechauer cue?

I am curious if anyone know any info about the Pechauer cue in the pictures that I added?

I can't find the same exact cue (tried looking at all of the lines of cues that the billiard warehouse has, and I could not find the same cue).

I am just curious if anyone knows how much the cue may have retailed for (if you had to take your best guess)?

I think it must be an older model, because the current lines all have stainless steel joints on them, and this one does not.

Thanks for any info, and opinions about the original retail price of the cue (if you do not know for sure).

I am also curious about opinions on the hit of these production(?) cues, and if they are liked by many players out there?

Just curious if they are decent hitting cues (in comparison to other production cues in the same price range)?

Is Pechauer thought to be a decent cue maker by most players out there that have tried his cues (when it comes to his production cues)?

Thanks

I was able to find the cue on the JP website, in his archives (did not think to look on his site for an archive before creating this thread).

It is model JP15 from the 1999-2000 JP series, and retailed for $470. So, were these good quality cues, and very good players? Just curious what you all think (if you ever owned one, or shot with one from that time period). Thanks

Pechauer was my first introduction to what at the time it feel was a non production cue. At that time all I had heard of was joss, Meucci, Viking, McDermott. I wanted a pro-h so bad and stared at it for hours on end at the underage pool hall I hung out and than started to work at and spend every penny at too. Than a buddy brought a Schon catalog in, I think it was 92, the kids that jerry briesath had taught, Gary Peterson, Tom cox, Tom mCCluskey, disclaimer, if you know you know, and another I can't recall, met him and his dad, can't remember name, but great player:

I own a Pechauer cue and love it. I shot with every production brand cue before deciding to go with my Peach. I also have their LD shaft which is the bees nees. They are very stiff hitting cue with a ton of feel. Can't go wrong with any Peach you decide on. Their break and jump cues are the nutz too. Best jump cue I have every used.

Thanks for your replies. So was the JP series a well made cue back in the late 90's (early 2000's)? I see that the Pro series have always had much higher retail values, but I also see that they have always been much nicer (the Pro series). Do the Pro series have a better hit, or is the hit of both the Pro series and the JP series about the same? Thanks for your opinions. This will be the 1st JP cue that I have ever owned.

At that point they were more in the custom range than they are today with more eyes and hands on them thru the entire process... You have a winner.... enjoy it...

If I were going to buy a production cue, it would be a Pechauer. I think:sorry: I haven't hit one in a good many years but I liked the ones I hit years ago.

Thanks for the archive, I found the Pechauer I own. I never knew what it was but it's a PR18 from 2008-2010 era.

I bought this cue from a friend who needed money and I have 4 shafts with it. It's an excellent hitting cue but I don't play with it, it just collects dust:(.

Here's a pic of it in the archive:

They are still made in small factory (I toured it)

Chris,

Schoen and McDermott are 45 minutes south of me. Jacoby is 2 hours North west..Pechauer is 1.5 hours north. I chose Pechauer....( I HAVE NO AFFLIATION WITH PECHAUER)

The cues are still made in a small factory with only a few guys. They have incorporated CNC technology but the Eyes are still human. I am a Director of Quality and have been a Quality manager for 35 plus years in Wisconsin. I am very adapt at precision machining & tolerances. These guys make a good product ..I bought 2 of them.

I would get the Pro because of the joint and taper..but shoot with one and get what you like.
