Hello,

this is one of my first posts. My name is Silvio and I'm from Austria in Europe. I started building cues this year after I bought a Hightower Deluxe from one of the AZ members.
My problem is that I alwas wanted a Meucci JR-7 and now someone offers one but doesn't know how much he wants for this cue.

Here some Pictures:

Is it an old original JR-7? What shoud I pay for that cue?
Thanks :D

...

I think my friend won one of those meucci's from a raffle they stated that brand new it was over $500. But because of the condition shown in the photos i.e. cracked ferrules..and poor condition.

I wouldn't offer very much. But then again I'm not a fan of production cues.

OK here is what I know from my old catalogs. The original cue was made for Jim Rempe & was the most expensive production cue of it's time. It had Ivory, Gold & jewels inlayed to make the patterns. NONE of the cues of this model, that followed had any valueable inlays.
I have a catalog from 1992& it was called the TC-3 Crown Jewel
In 1993 & 1994 it was called the C-8 Crown Jewel.
In 1995 it was called the 95-32.
In 1996 it was changed from the 95-32 to C-8.
The most I can find for a retail price was $2200.
I don't find a catalog that shows the Rempe prices, but I believe they all had his name on them. I do not know when the Rempe models, were produced.
From your pictures I would estamate a refinish- about $100- $200.
Joint ring repairs -about $50.
New ferrules & tips- $30- $40 each.
New rubber bumper - $1-$5.

I always figure a used cue , in good condition, should sell for at least 1/2 of what it sold for, when it was new ,(that is certanly debatable)...JER
