Help identifying a McDermott

I noticed this cue at a buddy's house and picked it up off of him (he has no clue about pool cues). I at first thought it was an EF-1, but the ring around the top is wood colored.

Hopefully someone can help me out! I can take a pic of it w/ the shaft if needed.

It's an EF-1 according to the Blue Book of Cues. The joint collar ring is made from bacote.
