Help Identifying an Old Cue

Looking for Info/thoughts on this older cue, please.

It belongs to an older guy that said he has had it for 30+ years originally purchased at a flea market. The joint is a flat-face joint w/brass sleeve and brass insert in the shaft, plus nice Titlist type points. He asked me if I thought it was a Willie Hoppe and I said I didn't think so because of the joint and butt sleeve/bumper, but I would ask around.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for looking.

Dave

Huebler?

Looks a lot like my old Huebler.
Sorry to the photo size, I can take them down if needed.

yes it does, thanks. Makes sense with the joint and the bumper...even the two pearl rings. Do you have an idea of its year? Was yours signed?

Still looking for more opinions.

It's likely an old Huebler but it could also be a very early Meucci.

I am guessing the shaft is not original because of the insert.....even the early Meucci cues had a nylon insert.

Of course...I guess it could be an original shaft as they were custom makers and would likely make what you wanted within limits.

In any case I think that is e very cool cue!:thumbup::thumbup:

By the way, I would be trying to find a couple original Huebler shafts for that. They aren't too hard to find with plain black rings, even in like new condition. They will get progressively harder to find though.

Thanks! I have a message into the the guy that runs the Huebler Facebook page, very curious now. The shaft I saw was pretty thin. I'll let everyone know what I learn.

I just heard back from Terry(?) of the Huebler Fan Facebook Site and he said this:

"Looks to be a Huebler cue but the shaft isn't the original shaft joint collar and insert are incorrect. The cue should measure 57 inches from tip to butt cap. Looks to be a QB-4.
The cue was made in 3 different brochures QB , HI & H series from 73 -85"

This is consistent with what many of you experts have said, not the original shaft. I will check it out when I see him and the cue next, but I think the mystery is solved.

Thank you ALL!

Terry knows his Hueblers. He was a personal friend of Paul Huebler and bought out the Huebler shop.

I got a new Huebler bumper from him as well as original Huebler joint protectors.

He's great to deal with, He might even have a shaft for that. ;)

Based on the pill style bumper it is an earlier version of the cue.

I bought mine used in 1976 and it isn't signed.
I have one with the same color rings as yours, and the vertical Huebler logo in the butt, but it doesn't have the short points, brass joint, or the "pill" bumper.
