I have one larger piece, identified as black micarta? Am I correct in assuming it all is? I always see the old cream/ivory color so my limited knowledge has me baffled.

Micarta ??

Anything is possible - however, all the (old) (traditional) Westinghouse Micarta typically found and used in the cue, knife and jewelry trade was Ivory colored paper based OR linen based material.

Micarta became a somewhat generic name at one point and various similar materials got "branded" as micarta. I am not personally familiar with a "black" micarta - although there were, in fact, other colors made.

Looks like paper phenolic to me.
Got some of them.
Old and newer. The newer stuff is pretty much unusable.

I agree Paul, I'm not used to seeing it in black and honestly don't see myself using it anytime soon.
