Help identifying this table.

[/ATTACH]A friend of mine has the table shown in the pictures below (sorry, that is all I have of it so far) and is about to move. He wants me to purchase it but although his is telling me it is an older Brunswick Newport, and although I see that indicated on the labeling on the table, I have major doubts about it being a Newport (from what I can tell, it may not even be a Brunswick). I have searched the Brunswick site and may other ways with no success so far.

I have a very limited time to decide before his move so any help in identifying this would be greatly appreciated.

who cares it is a cheaper old beat up table perfect for just knocking around and not spending any money fixing it up. dont pay over 150 bucks.
 
It is a brunswick. Manufactured between 1969-1971. Carefull when taking it apart : those slates are only 7/8" and are pinned.

Given the photo and the warnings of the pins and slate thickness, I think I will pass on this one although it was probably a good deal at $350.

As it stands, this has clarified my thoughts about investing in a Gold Crown although, for whatever reason, I am also considering an AMF Grand Prix. If anyone happens to know of one of these that may be in need of a slight repair or two (or better yet, in good shape), and that is reasonably priced and within 60-100 miles from Dallas, TX, please feel free to let me know.

Table

Those tables are not worth it, recovered a few and although I made it very clear to the owner that the cloth and labor is worth more than table 5 fold... they still wanted that POS recovered for the holidays....
This forum was built by players for players...that is NO players table.
Be careful, if those tables get moisture in the wood structure it might fall over if nodged or bumped into hard enough.

you are looking to save money by buying junk. and in a pool table that leads to instant frustration as it will never be level or play decent. and the cost of simple fixes will far outweigh what you paid.

It absolutely was not a good deal at $350, did you actually read our posts?

Just because something is old, does not make it valuable. Send it to the dump and use the slates for a work table top
 
Again, thanks for all the input. I already had my suspicions about the table but you all confirmed them.

Needless to say, I did not purchase the table.

I have to admit I am looking to save a little money because I can repair rails, replace felt, and etc.

However, I will not purchase a table that is structurally unsound nor if it is not what I am looking for.
