Help me choose some wood for a cue

It's going to be a wrapless cue and I think I've decided on the piece of quilted and spalted maple at the top for the handle. I kind of wish that little bit of spalting wasn't there, just because the quilting is so fantastic. I think it's unique, but I think others might see it as a flaw. Which one of those forearms in the picture do you think would fit best with that handle as far as pretty goes. How about for feel and hit? They are bocote at the top, curly koa and kingwood. Perhaps some other kind of wood all together? All three are milled for 6 points. Which ever one you like the best, what kind of wood for the points would you choose?

Thanks for your help.

the lower one. It has nice grain and figures, im sure it would look nice with the spalted maple. just my 2c ;)

The sweetest coco you can get your hands on with an ebony butt.
With such a sweet piece of quilted maple I would not want a subtle wood surrounding it, contrast would really make it jump out at you.

Dark

I personally would use Cocobolo because the darkness would contrast with the other piece of wood that you already picked out. It would jump out at you, and it would highlight the wood you have already picked.

Then I would use some thing in between for the points and for contrast.

I like contrast, but maybe you don't want it to jump out at you.

Bocote will also provide a good contrast, and it looks awesome once finished out, because it has a lot of grain and different colors jump out at you. If you don't want the big contrast then I would go with the Kingwood at the bottom.

Just my thoughts, but I would just trust the cue makers decision. They normally know best. Tell him whether you want it to contrast or blend together. He will know which one to pic.

Oh, and have him put an OB-1 shaft on it! Then you will have one hell of a cue!

For what you have listed and if they are not cored, I would go with the Bacote, and theirs nothing wrong with the character of the handle,
