Help me find this guy

I was watching a video on YouTube recently and saw this guy with a killer break. I can't remember who he was, but here is what I think I know/remember.

The video I believe was in the early 90's, I think he was playing Efren (shouldn't be hard to find right?). He was a heavy set guy, and I know he has passed away before his time. I would guess he would be in his mid 50's now. He had a very short back stroke, but a killer break. I'm thinking his name was Roy or something like that. Maybe it was the camel pro tour, not sure. Can someone help me remember who this guy was.

He died in a car accident right? I watch way too many old Efren matches on youtube... I will try to find it.

Sounds like Tony Ellin to me too. Tony Ellin taught me how to jump over a full ball with just a shaft.

My first thought was also Tony "The Hurricane" Ellin. Somewhere in my VHS tapes I have him playing Earl Strickland in the US Open finals. Guessing early 90's. Very powerful break.

I was really impressed with how much power he generated with a very small back stroke. I bet he didn't bring the cue back more than 6 inches. He some how moves his body in a way that allows him to just uncork.

Tony Elin?

{edit: I see everyone already answered}

Tony used to wear one of those polyester jogging suits. Always found that amusing.

In the early days of testing break speed by radar, Tony Ellin and Busty were about even
at the top of the heap....both were clocked at 33 MPH.

He also had enough follow through on the break for any other two players combined LOL. Him and Archer basically ended up with the cue on the other side of the table. Gomez I think is another one that has a huge follow through on the break, cue and body.

The break

Some of you older kids like me , probably thought of Wade Crane,Billy(you dont have to call me Mr Johnson) Johnson.THAT WAS A BREAK!

Billy Johnson's break is STILL my favorite break.
...he just pulled the trigger like a normal shot...so he didn't sacrifice accuracy...
...and it sounded like a 303 going off.

If I am not mistaken, he was in a car and hit by a train not too far from his house.

Yeah- He was speeding/trying to beat the train to the crossing so he wouldnt have to wait. That's what they said at the time anyway.

For today's players, Mike Dechaine's softer, more controlled break reminds me of Wade Crane's break.

Freddie <~~~ isn't like Wade Crane

Mike Sigel when he was competing had a good 9 ball break. He also proved how far you could bend a maple shaft without breaking it.
