I am going to have a new cue built with the one wood I don't have BURL !!

I am thinking about 4 points up and 4 points down of equal length 9" with a 4" inch center, all of burl. Just don't know what to use with it.

I don't want anything dark.

I was thinking of maybe Holly, olivewood or real white maple. Please give me some input along with veneer suggestions.

Thanks,
Joe

Holly will be too soft and too light for already a light wood in burl.
I'd go with olive wood or really hard maple.

Not really, because of purple hearts open grain, it's on the lighter side of things. I agree with Joey, a good piece of hard maple would suit you just sporty, maybe some fiddle back....look for a good dense piece, because putting those burl points in, will lighten it up.

Maybe a purple heart handle? Not exposed of course, it would look a little weird with burl points.........

If you're gonna core it, I'd go with bocote. Stable and a little on the heavy side.

[]WILLIE, Blud, anyone, How about some help ?????????????????[/B]
