Help on blank woods and veneers.

I'm going to order a Davis Blank and have a cue built by a local guy.

I'm copying the interior of my car. It does have a gorgeous interior I'm gonna use the same colors, and wood as in the car.

Thus, I will need amboyna burl into Ebony. Wood trim is burl, not sure exactly what kind, but it resembles amboyna burl. The dash, carperting are all black. The seats are a very nice tan with more of an orange tint. More Texas Orange with white stitching.

controls and what not are silver, and white around the control areas.

The exterior of car is dark blue.

Thought is to have a amboyna burl butt into ebony forearm, with the tan/orange leather wrap and a little white stitching, if possible.


Not sure if the woods are compatible as far as weight is concerned ?? Would like to keep at 19 oz... 20 at max.

Also, any suggestions on veneer colors ? Veneers.... would like dk blue as one of them, maybe even a light blue to highlight the dk blue,,, but then need white and/or silver ? Any other suggestions ??

what order to put them (knowing ebony is on the forearm)

Just want to get my mind set on the right colors and order before I order it...

Any comments welcome, even ones that disagree completely... I will take the good with the bad

Amboyna burl should be cored and a piece that size in a cue brings up issues with availability, expense and if John is set up to core it. It'd be less expensive to put it in if you used a "second splice" but the amboyna should still be cored.
