First its a 1975-ish Fischer coin=op 7ft with 1 piece slate.

Ok my table was playing pretty descent. I decided to put carpet down on the bare basement floor. We moved the table and rolled out the carpet and centered the table in the room. A partial wall was removed so the table was now in a new position.

I have went nuts for at least 8 hours trying to level this table. I have used a level and tried to level the slate with shims (playing cards) found it was too far out of whack without adjusting the legs so we started adjusting legs and no matter what we did in got worse.

I feel like I must have killed a part of my brain because this thing is making me feel so stupid.

Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you

-
Remove those shims you installed under the slate'
Level the table at the feet side to side then end to end turning the feet even amount of turns end to end when leveling
Enjoy

We tried that on attempts 1,2,4,8,17and 41. We finally found out our 4' level was no where near accurate. We then tried your way again but could tell something kept moving. It was do to the legs twisting on the new carpet(just laid like a rug not attached to anything). With a small thin piece of wood under each leg we worked side to side then end to end and finally got things worked out. I gave up on it for several hours while my son in law found our level was broke.

Thanks to you and him the table is playing well thank you.

you need a calibrated machinest level on top of your 4' level in order to find the average level for the side

otherwise you are shooting in the dark... you need a leveling system in order to do this properly

good luck
