Someone local is selling a used Olhausen pool table. It is currently dismantled but attached is a photo when it was in use. It does not precisely match any of their current models, so I'd appreciate it if someone who knows about older Olhausen models could let me know what it is and how it compares with their current Championship or Monarch model, which it looks similar to. They are asking $1500.

I have had a look at it dismantled. I could not find any kind of plate or sticker indicating the model type, but could ascertain the following:

Manufactured in 1994 (Written in Sharpie on the tops of the pedastals)
Has Maple laminate rails and skirts with round metal sights
9' (Measures 100" from point to point on the length of the table)
Has rectangular Olhausen logo plate (Old design? Current ones seem to use an oval)
Has metal corner pocket plates and trim like current Championship models
Has 1" slate with wood frame
Slate has total of 6 bolts on the long rails (2 bolts per piece) 3 on the short
Plastic drop pockets nailed to the rails (Not machine bolts like a Gold Crown)
Has pedestal legs with no levellers
Has "regular" cloth (Non-Simonis/Worsted)

I could be wrong, but 100" is not a 9 footer. It's like an oversized 8' or something. I had a Brunswicke Balke and Collender that was 50"X100".
I don't have an opinion on the price. If you think it's fair and you like the color, style, etc, then go for it.

Dan, I wouldn't pay that much for that table.
Olhausen Pro Championship ( their top of the line commercial table ) can be had around SD/LA area for just a little more. Used of course. I remember a pool hall here whose owner wanted to get rid of them couldn't sell them for 2K.
I'd check the Olh tables after a WPBA event in San Diego.

Thanks Joey. The annual WPBA tournament in San Diego has been played on Brunswick tables for the last few years. They use GC IV's for the non-TV rounds, then a high-end fancy table Brunswick for the televised finals. These are indeed sold but are way out of my budget range.

I have not seen any other Champiosnhip Pro's for sale in CA recently, if you know of any under $2K let me know, or any other pro-style table at that price (GC, Diamond etc.)

50"x100" is the inside measurements of a 9', inside rail to inside rail. 8' is 44"x88"

I will keep a look out for tables as well. I know a guy in Palm Desert recently
sold a GC4 for 1775. Good deal.
Are you looking for any quality table or a particular type?

I have been looking for a couple bar boxes. I would prefer Valley but not that picky. If you hear of any let me know.

If you ever want to get together and play let me know. We could play a
RSB ladder match. I had to play APA regionals last weekend. I believe someone was coming towards SoCal and wanted to get together and play.

Thanks Frank. I actually have a 7' bar box I want to get rid of and replace with a 9' table. It's not a Valley (some older make) and needs new cloth and rails. I was intending on trading it with whoever sets up my new table for installation services, but if you are interested send me a PM.

As for what I am looking for, I want a commercial-style 9' table, either a GC or something that plays similarly for under $2000. I'm not interesed in furniture-style tables, I want something I can practice seriously on in the garage. The GCIV would have been perfect, maybe next time. (Assuming I don't buy the Olhausen, waiting to find out if we can make a deal on it.)

As for an RSB ladder match sure thing. Where do you usually play?

I dont really play that much anymore unless its league play. I did venture out to Shooters in Riverside for their last tournament like Hardtimes monthly.
I can go about anywhere so thats not a problem. I am in the Inland Empire and theres not a good room here. Not even close.
My team won the APA regionals so we will be going to Vegas. I am going to
try to play more between now and then so the timing is good.
Danny Ks is a nice place and within about 30-40 minutes usually.
Where do you normally play?
Also if you know of any weekly tournaments let me know. I am going to try and hit more than usual before going to Vegas.

I will keep my eyes open for a table for you. I might be interested in the
bar table but if you sell it or trade it then thats fine. For me I would like a nice bar box but I have some friends that just want a 7 foot table.
