help removing old seam putty

I know i keep bugging you guys since i joined but i hope this will be one last request. I just brought the slate in for the table and it looks like they used that water putty to fill the seams before i took a razor scraper and took off the chunks between the seams and ran a 4in razor over the top it feels smooth as glass to the touch but i still see white on the slate is this just stained from the putty or is there more i need to do to remove the rest

any advice is greatly appreciated

Take a wet rag with a little dish soap and wash the remains of the plaster away, water desolves it.

thank you i will try that right now and by the way your slate leveling guide has been a life saver hope soon i can get a machinist level and really get this nice. of course this old bwick monticello is a bit different than the new tables lol thansk again
