Help with 8 ball game.

A friend of mine asked me to join an 8 ball league, apa I think it was. I have not played 8 ball in ten years, and I rarely ever play on a bar box. Hell the only games I play are One Pocket and Golf. Anything will help Thanks.
 
APA, You may or may not have heard me say why I wouldn't play in a APA league. Handicaps, rules, etc. However, if your friend is saying, 'Come on and have some fun', and you do it with that attitude, then you will have fun. I understand that APA is geared toward having fun. If your a good player and I'm assuming that since you mostly play One-pocket, then you will get a lot of respect and be ask to help the people newer to the game. To be looked up to is always nice.
 
It seems to me that the players who can *really* run the table on me are those who "have not played in years"! ;)

APA around here has all different skill levels of players as do the other leagues. Everyone is welcome.

The only thing is that APA matches may be played on *only* one table and the tournaments might last until midnight or later in some cases. May want to ask about that if you need to get up early the next day for work...
 
A guy by the name of Billy "Peaches"Palmer came into town. and we played some One-Hole for twenty a game. We played ten games and he ended up winning twenty off of me. Has anybody ever heard of this guy. He played dam good.
