Help with 8' Table leveling

I am moving in the middle of May. The house is just across town, but is small. The only good thing is that it has a separate garage from the house big enough to fit my table plus some extra's. The down fall is, that it is not a concrete floor. Its mostly dirty and a mixture of gravel. What can I do or lay down other that concrete as I am just renting. The garage is also not heated if that would propose a problem. The table is a 8', three piece slate. Looks like a cheapo from sears or something. Any help would be nice!
 
Install a base for the table legs.

Go to the hard wood store and buy FOUR 4x4x8 pieces of wood. Dig 4 holes 10 inches deep. Put about 2 inches of gravel in the base of each hole. Then put the wood in and stabilize with dirt and wood wedges.

Make sure all 4 pieces are as level as possible make sure you use a good level (the longer the better) from each piece of wood.

Unless the ground floor gets real muddy it should last you a few years before you have to level it again.

Thanks, I will have to call the rental agency and make sure that I can dig the holes. Are they're any other ways? Just incase they say I cant dig?

Basically the less digging the more checking and adjusting you'll probably have to do. Not a big deal once you get the hang of it.

Four patio blocks might be all you need. One thing is that if you use stone underneath anything, use pea gravel. It doesn't compress.

Muddy soil will also typically be less stable than sandy soil.

Get yourself a Tamper, (big square steel base with a pole) and tamp the ground where each leg is going to be really good, Make sure its compacted tight.

Then get four 12x12 patio bricks, 1" thick. and level those under each leg..
