help with a cue

Hello can anyone tell me what this cue is the black bottom does not look like it goes to it since it does not match up. The guy I got it from said he got it in the 50's

Looks like an old Brunswick to me.

the reason why it doesnt look like it goes is because when the cue was made it did fit perfect.. but then over years and years of hotair and cold air and humidity and whatnot the wood expands and shrinks.. and the plastic may change or the wood under the plastic..
