one of the best ways

besides moving to AZ or Nevada.
I had made a separator some years ago, I used to paint cars. I used a large coil of copper tubing that got cooled by a fan moving air over the coils. That cooled the air down somewhat, and allowed the moisture to drop out, then used a simple moisture separator on the outlet side of the coils to trap the water. As important: a second separator on my belt before the gun. It helped control the spitting I used to get in humid weather here in Northern Ohio.
Now that may seem extreme, but why not try a water separator on your belt with as much air hose as you have aavilable between the compressor and you. The long hose will allow the air to cool to ambient, and the longer the hose the more time to cool, and the separator on your belt will catch way more water than one near the compressor, trust me on this. I would drain my personal separator ten times for every once needed at the compressor.
