Help with cue ID

I acquired this cue from a friend (Ryan), who needed a tank of gas and didn't play pool much. He thought I would be interested in it. Ryan had received this cue stick via a friends death and it was willed to him. His friend had the cue willed to him from his fathers death. All I know about the father is , He was a biker I believe a Hell's Angel. I knew it was nice and pretty old but not something you put up out of the way. I mean they are meant to be shot with. Agree? So I shot the shit out of it for about a year. A few weeks ago I took it with me to a shop in Salina to have a nice tip put on it. The woman behind the counter was scared to touch it and asked me how much I had it insured for. I said " It didn't come with papers , It came with a half laced joint deep in the ID pocket of a cheap fake leather soft pool case. She said it was between 75 to a 100 years old. So that led me to do some research. I believe its a Rambow. You can tell it has been refinished upon close inspection. The signature has been carefully removed and covered to the point you wouldn't know it had one if it wasn't supposed to. I know with cue being wrapless makes it questionable also. I would like if someone could tell me if it could be a Rambow or is or is not. If it is I believe it needs a better venue than it has at the moment. For the moment , I just want to find out what its about and maybe some suggestions of what I should do. I would sell it to a collector if wanted. And maybe with it being so compromised. Its a waste of time. So any information or advice would be greatly appreciated. Here are some pics and details.

60 " long excluding the old rubber butt.
The joint is all brass 1/2" long.
about 2 " from the bottom it has the number 13 or maybe it is a 15. I have a 13 oz cue and this one feels slightly heavier. I would say it is around 15 oz.

I am not sure If i did the pics correctly or not. I busy guy and not to savvy with puter.

Made in Italy, worth $25-$100 on ebay, definitely not a Rambow and definitely not refinished, no older than 1965

Torino brand. Made in Italy. 100% for sure. Probably 1970's or 80's. Not older than 1965.

Relatively inexpensive. Some of them were maple, some of them were ramin wood, which is endangered now from the furniture industry and the inexpensive pool cue industry.

The person you spoke to made an error.

As was said, $25 to $100 on Ebay.

No reason why it can't be a nice player. Enjoy it. But anybody who really knows cues will know what it is on sight.

Please understand that many people at pool halls or cue shops don't know anything beyond the cues they sell and/or commonly service. Even a lot of experienced cue makers don't really know a lot about old cues. Some do, some don't. Really depends on their own personal inclination and experience.

I have one of these that I picked up for around $40 just because I like butterfly cues.

Enjoy the cue! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you very much. I looked at a lot of joints on this machine lately. And it matched the Rambow exactly and also you can see it did have a signature at one time. When you lay it flat and roll it, you can see a noticeable gap and faint scribbles. But I agree with you. Now that I have seen the Torino style. Once again I say Thank You. That's what I wanted to know. Peace.
