Help with cue info.

I just picked up a david howard giant killer DH-4E. I was curious if it was a first series, or how to tell? Any other info about the cue would be helpful, thanks.

Thanks for the info. Not for sale yet, I just got it so I want to try it out at least. If you find out any more info please let me know. I thought I saw on here somewhere where someone was talking about how to tell if it is a "first series" DH-4 or one of the others that were done after. I know some of the newer versions of this, that are not the HOF-7, have the meucci script logo and this one does not. I am guessing that means there is real ivory in this one? Thanks again for the info.
 
Steve Lomax could tell you everything about the cue. I don't know if he has a web-site or not, but he is a member here and might chime in. I thought I had a couple of older meucci's with ivory only to find out it wasn't. If you decide to sell it, pm me a price if its straight.

Any idea what this cue is worth? Two red dot shafts original everything is straight.

If it has two red dot shafts...the shafts are not the original shafts. They look really long in your first picture comparing them to the length of the butt.

I'm not going to say what I think it is worth. Seems there are always different opinions on that on here.:rolleyes:
 
new cue....

I think that is the angle they are sitting. I am guessing by your comment that the shaft should be the same length as the butt? The original owner I bought it from said they were red dot and that they were original. I am guessing they could be pre dot and he just did not know. I will have to check the shafts as I do not know myself. I know little about these cues except for what I have recently read. Just confirming the info. As for the worth of the cue, since I just bought it and am not selling I am just curious to see if I got a decent deal. I wanted the cue so much I did not haggle on the price much, I assumed it was reasonable. In the end I guess I will just have to shoot some games to see if it was worth it to me :)
 
I sold a different type of David Howard cue a couple of months ago with a predator shaft for 500.00. I didn't have the original shaft for it. Yours should be worth more with the ivory and matching shafts if everything is straight.
 
cue for sale.

Yeah they are really long, about 32 in if I believe. Not sure if they are original or not? The butt of the cue is in great condition for its age.

The shield in this cue may be ivory.But the points are plastic.I have two friends that have the same cue.

I was told by numerous people that the shield and points on an original david howard DH-4 were ivory. However the only sure test I know of it using a hot needle and I do not feel the need to do that at this time :)
