Help with opinions on how Jacoby cues compare to other cue makers?

I am curious how Jacoby cues compare to other cue makers (like Pechauer for example)?

I am talking about the quality of their cues (not the hit).

Does anyone here own (of have owned in the past) a Pro Series (signature series) Jacoby cue, and if so, what did you think of the quality, and the hit of the cue?

Thanks.

Dave's stuff is top notch... Even the production stuff he does seems to pass the sniff test on quality and I have heard zero complaints from anyone about the quality or performance... Add to that it's Dave and that means you know you are going to have good customer service just because Dave is good people.......

Yeah, I know Dave (or David) is a very nice guy. I met him when I was at the APA singles nationals back in 2002. He offered to let me shoot with one of his sneaky pete cues, and he seemed like a really nice guy.

I've had a $350 custom jacoby(used), an $1800 Jacoby(new), and will soon receive a $2200 Jacoby that should be finished next week! Their fit and finish and attention to detail is second to none! I have never seen sharper and more even points as well! Their jump cues are one of the best too!

Pretty much everything with David Jacoby's name on it is
#1 in my book. Great Cues that consistently play well.

I have a Jacoby and no complaints. His stuff is quality and no hype.

I am sure if he wanted to cap a waiting list, he can.

He also has a top notch staff too.

Why he doesn't get more attention is beyond me.

personally, I think Jacobys are great cues, Ive hit with a 10thousand dollar jacoby and a $600 jacoby, both were built with the same attention to detail, both were really nice hitting cues. I think you will do well.

Thanks for all of the opinions about his cues. The one I am thinking about buying has a very stiff taper in the shaft, and a 5/16x14 joint. Do his cues hit similar to a Schon, or is it a very unique type of hit? This is the one I am seriously considering buying, but I have no idea what a fair price on it should be (it is used, but in fairly good condition).

I really do not want to pay $4.95 to see what the blue book has the cue valued at either. Thanks.

Thanks.
schons are better, and don't buy cues with guns, ull get tired of it or outgrow it. it looks cool but in reality you just bought a cue with guns inlaid in it. You donjt buy a gun with a pool cue on it do you??

Does that cue come with a standard shaft or the edge hybrid? I have been using their edge hybrid on my rundes for 5 years now and last year at state I picked up a nice custom from them. I am very happy with their product, I was one of the last to get a ld shaft around my area and I am really happy with the performance. My Jacoby has an elforyn joint so I cant tell you how a ss jacoby compares to a ss schon but to me I like the way both of mine hit and can play equally well with either.

It just has a standard shaft on it, but I have an OB1 shaft that would fit it if I were to buy it. Thanks for all the replies.

I guess the gun inlays look kind of silly, and maybe I would get made fun of at the pool rooms if shooting with it, lol.

I have a Jacoby edge hybrid shaft and I love it! Best shaft I have ever played with and I have tested just about everything now. I currently have a Pechauer Custom Cue and love it. But because the edge hybrid shaft is so amazing I am thinking of picking up a Jacoby Custom Cue. I have heard nothing but amazing things about Dave and his staff. I have shot with a couple of Jacoby's and they all played very well.

My wife has a Jacoby with a standard shaft and she loves it. Great quality.. I have a Jacoby with the Edge and a standard shaft. Love the edge and the cue is perfect. Can't go wrong with Jacoby.

No more so than shooting with a "skulls" Schon...it's really all a taste thing, though both do look kind of silly to me. Others may think they look "way cool"...

I have never hit with one. I have friends though that have high end cues.... ed young, kersenbrock, sw, gina etc and both are having Jacoby build their next cue....gotta tell you something

He is a little secret even though he has won cue of the year and in the hall of fame.

I am glad people are recognizing him but it is best to leave him for us, middle people that can order a great playing cue and have it arrive quickly.

Have 2 custom made Jacoby's custom built for me and my son and love them. I worked with Brandon on the design and I can't tell how helpful him and the staff were. I cannot testify about other cue makers but I would definitly recommend Jacoby if you want a custom cue at a fair price
