Help with opinions on how Jacoby cues compare to other cue makers?

Jacoby cues are amazing and as others already said even work on theirs production line cues is great and play great too.Finish is top noth and attention to details as well.Beside all that they are extremely nice people who stand behind theirs work and will do whatever takes to make theirs customer happy. So,I will let you this.I purchased a few cues from them and have never had any problem with any of them except once, very first time. That time a few days after I received the cue,I found out that the shaft get a distortion,so it was warped. However,it wasn't warped when I received it.So,I sent an email to Dave explained him what happened and with no any hesitation he agreed to build me another shaft and few weeks after he sent it to me with no charging anything for the shaft, nor for the shipping.By the way, that cue has very nice and funny to build rings with tourquise in them. When I received that shaft it was straight as an arrow and it is still straight today. He and all his crew are so nice people and very easy to deal with.I would recommend him to everyone and although I am not big fun of LD shafts theirs are great and they give you a guarantee on them, unlike Preadtor who doesn't.What is the most important their work and playability is very, very consistent and all theirs cues play pretty much the same,of course there is some differets depend on wood and joint and weight.Have very nice firm hit and they use great shaft's wood.
Dave was a really gentleman since the very start and all way thru.Great people and will not dissapoint you,nor theirs cues will.
Hope this helps

I bought Scotty Townsend old Jacoby had a few beer stains an nicks so I had it refinished. Got a 13mm. shaft from Jacoby could be any ones daily player. Super balance and great hit.

I was unimpressed with their customer service, or lack thereof. So much so that I decided not to take delivery of the cue I had them build and gladly took the hit on the deposit.

My situation does seem to be a rare case, however.

I think that is the first negative I've ever heard of their service...what happened?

Short, short version: they responded to exactly one of my communication attempts during the construction of said cue. Multiple attempts via multiple channels on my part.

Since it does seem to be an almost entirely isolated incident I've avoided "going public" with my complaints. However, based on my experience, I no longer recommend Jacoby to those interested in having a cue built.

I have this signed Jacoby (bottom cue) that has a piloted 5/16-14 stainless joint w/one Jacoby standard shaft. It has great feel and is one of the few butts that a Schon shaft will fit because of the width and depth of the pilot. It also has a phenolic insert in the pilot which in my opinion provides more feel. In fact, I sold my Schon that I was using with an older Runde era Schon shaft that I really like because it felt better w/the Jacoby butt.

I have had several Jacoby's and have nothing but good things to say about them. I have also played with Melissa Little's Jacoby and it's awesome.

I would not have anything else. I had him build me one in 09 and love it. Some of the best work I have seen. Everyone that sees my cue loves the look and feel of it.

I have two Jacoby cues for sale. One production and one custom. The custom is 60 inch with Edge hybrid shaft. text me if you would like pics. jacoby is one of the best cue makers around. 863.450.9707
