Help with Predator Cues

I am considering buying a Predator cue.

I have narrowed it down to either the Ikon2-9 or the Blak2-4. A friend of mine recently purchased a Blak and I really like the feel of it.

The biggest question I have is this....Is the butt diameter the same on all of the Predator cues?

The one that my friend plays with has a smaller butt on it. It feels really similar to the Schons that I have played with for over 10+ years. I am leaning toward the Ikon because I like the turquoise inlays.

Can anyone help on this one?

Thanks,

Jason

I own a Blak 1 and have owned an Ikon 8, both first gen. The Blak is the better option IMO - it certainly moves the ball easier and has more power. The Ikon would suit touch/feel players, whereas I prefer to whack em. Not sure if I noticed a difference in terms of butt size, but then again, I couldn't care less about things like that.

Prefer my Pred sneaky to both of them, to be honest. My friend has a first gen Blak 4 that is extraordinary to play with - far better than my B1. I suspect the Ikon & Blaks are the same cue with different patterns, however, and all cues will play slightly different anyway, depending on balance, weight distribution, materials etc.

FWIW, the first gen Ikon 8 is a stunning looking cue.

Both the Ikons and Blak series have the C4 technology. I've owned 3 predator cues that have the C4 and they all hit the same to me. 2 friends of mine have Predator Blak cues and they felt the same as the Ikons and 5k serie cues that I owned. I definately didn't see an increase in cue power between the 2 cues . If your deciding between the Ikon and Blak, I would say go for the cue that looks more appealing to you, because at the end of the day your deciding between the same exact cue that has been "PIMPED" out differently.
