Old Moori

Elk Master, Le Pro, Triangle, you must be kidding !!! These are not serious tips for serious players, this is my opinion. The best I had was old medium Moori. I play now with Moori quick . The second will be Talisman.
I never tried Kamui , I tried Sniper and it was very bad.

Explain to me then, why some of the top pros use Elks, Lepros and Triangles?

I was thinking the same thing while reading his post....maybe "serious" tips HAVE to cost more?? I've seen guys do things with whitey (w/those lesser tips) that I WISH I could do with ANY tip!

i actually do my own tips by hand. there's a pretty good thread here somewhere where there's detailed instructions on how to change your own tips by hand.

as long as you use a really sharp razor and are really careful when sanding everything it's easy enough

:eek: That's some brave shit to say man. Guess I better go get some old moori tips, that way I can turn into a serious player, maybe one day turning pro as soon as I get it installed. Thanks for the "tip" :rolleyes: What's your next advice? If you don't use a Gina, Szam, or any kind of high end custome cue that you are not a serious player??? I'm a beginner and a newbie, but I definately know not to say crazy stuff like that. If I offended you it is because what you said was offensive to MANY, not just me. If you don't watch what you say around the AZ board, you will get drilled, you have been here longer than me, and you should probably know better than me. I hope it was just a joke. Everyone is entitled to their own personal opinion and preference, in your case, you like Moori, but to say you are not a serious player because of the tip you use is definately an overstatement. Have a good one man.

You don't have to be so defensive all, I wasn't trying to offense anyone, maybe my English understanding is not that good, but this is just my opinion the tips I tried like Elk, Triangle, le Pro are just not good at all compared to the others. Of course a very good player like Efren and Deuel can play with any tip, cue ...... an do wonders on the table. What I was trying to say is that if you are serious about playing this game at a high level, why not get the best tip out there. You can be very serious player ( good player ) with any tip or equipment, I wasn't tried to cut anybody's EGO, LOL
And you didn't offended me, arguments did not killed anyone until now. :)

elk masters aren't that bad. but really who wants to wait for them to break in to be worth playing with. le pro and triangles are too hit or miss. i think that's the real advantage to using layered tips. there's little to no break in period and there aren't many bad ones

I think I have tried them all--but recently had a wizard medium put on and it (to my estimation) is a lot better than a sniper or a moori but it seems that everyone has thier own choice. But also have a sniper hard on my other playing cue and like it as well. Both took some breaking in. (use as a break cue for a few days and then reshape.
