Help with thoughts about unknown pool cue? Thanks.

This cue looks very interesting to me, but I have no idea who made it.

The only markings are in one of the points, and are some sort of a Serial Number (0861318), I am guessing.

The cue appears to have a G10 Glass Epoxy Radial Pin joint on it.

Really beautiful cue, in my opinion.

Does it appear to be the work on any cue makers that you know of?

Thanks for any thoughts.

I wonder where you are seeing an ad for this cue. Are you watching the same auction? Do you think the starting price is fair? Thanks.
Ebay.
Seller says maker is confirmed. Early work of maker. Kind of cagey to not say. Ask the seller.

I don't know. Google North Kanto cue maker and you get some interesting leads.

I'm surprised at the number of cues for sale from Japan. All free shipping. How long has that been going on? I got one a little while back via DHL. Came faster than cues I bought in the US. Ads can be hard to decipher.

Nasty looking joint pin. No weight bolt, just air. Screams of Asian knockoff of something. You pay your money, you take your choice. Good luck.

A knock off of what though? A lot of great cue makers use those G10 pins. Cognoscenti, Mike Durbin, Richard Chudy / RC3. Surely many more too. The cue is clearly not garbage. Just look at the highly figure woods in the forearm points. I like the ringwork. Maybe it is kind of a Cog knock off, but those points are not Cog style.

Buy it.

Difficult to decipher but it looks like they removed the weight bolt. It look like the ad used Google translation.

There is actually one possibility of what this cue might be. Japanese maker yes, but valuable.

I think it's what the ad is implying but it's garbled. I'm not watching it, not interested, but I saw it when it was first listed and researched it.

It also could be complete BS, which I think it is for a specific reason, which is that fugly pin.

Don't know, not chasing it.

A 'globally popular cuemaker'( Ebay ad's words not mine) that not ONE person on AZ has EVER heard of. That's funny.

Just used AI to search 'North Kanto pool cues' and i got some rambling shit about mythical northern Japan, nomes, and some weird-ass samurai warrior shit. To be honest it made about as much sense as ol Justin used to. ;)

There have been cues for sale on AZB from that region. Nice cues. If early work, this could be the same maker...maybe...I guess...
