Help with tight fitting cue

There is a product called Never-Seez that pipefitters use on studs to allow easy removal of nuts. Hardware stores or plumbing supply stores will carry it. The stuff is a graphite compound, slick and is very messy. I have used a very small amount on the pin and put the cue together and took it back apart several times and then wiped the pin off. It leaves a light film and will not dry, although it will collect dust. Make sure you use a joint protector. When the joint becomes tight again just re-apply. It will make a world of difference. A small can will last forever.

I want to clarify that Never-Seez is for threads on metal pins. I don't think you would get good results if the threads are made of wood.

Brittle wood

I have two Kersenbrocks and Dave recommended that I use a small amount of Vaseline on a Q tip to keep the wood from getting brittle. I have been using this technique for over 25 years and have no problems. Solid fit ... no problems with tightness.

i have a very tight fitting cue i use just a little bit of mink oil on the pin. works fine for my arnot custom cue. with a big radial pin. just a thought

Alright, don't laugh (even though I laughed when I first heard this idea). I was told years ago that everyone has a little oil in their body, so before you put your cue away in it's case, take your finger and rub it on the outside of your nose and then rub it on the pin of your shaft. It happens to work great and has no ill effects on your cue...
