Can anyone help can you tell me how to practice one pocket what would be the best method?

No substitute for playing the game itself, but if you can't, you can practice trying to run balls into a single pocket with an open table. Aslo, one pocket is very much about speed control and finesse, so playing straight pool would help you with that. Finally, banking balls is a key skill in one pocket, so playing bank pool would help, even though bank shots are hit much harder in bank pool than in one pocket.

You really need to see someone(s) who knows how to play play.

There are too many things you'll never figure out on your own.

But one thing you can do on your own- learn how to run balls in one pocket. I like to scatter the balls in the rack area and take BIH. You can start from the side or the top.

It is a great game...

Get in a cheap game with someone better than you. Keep playing till the spots get smaller and smaller.

I would say find someone who plays well who you can play as cheap as possible. There are a couple of guys I play with, it costs me every time but I am learning from them. One guy, who is a strong player, plays me for $5 a game. I never beat him but he even gives me pointers as we play, he likes to tell me "even when I lose to him, I really win" he is right, he really gives me a lot of insight to the game. If you could find a guy like this, I say play with them as much as possbile.
