the easiest way to load the pics is to create a free account at www.photobucket.com and load the pics there. you don't have to worry about the size on that site, they can be as large as you have on your computer. then when you want to insert them into a post on az, click on the little icon that look like this:
and cut and past the direct link of the picture you want from photobucket into the dialog box and click ok. very important, then take your cursor at the end of the line that appears in your post (after the last ]) and hit return. you can preview it to make sure it works.

For what it's worth, I prefer to upload images directly to THIS site. They are then stored in the database, and will always be a part of THIS site, forever.
I sometimes get slightly annoyed regarding the image size, but I understand why the limitation is there.
Yes, if you absolutely have to post an image that is over 100KB, you are out of luck attaching it directly to the post.
Now if/when other sites vanish, like photobucket, or imageshack, etc., your post will always show the image if it is posted (attached) to your post.

I totally agree. That's why I try to make sure anyone who asks has a clue about how to upload things directly into their message, not calling it from elsewhere. It's not that hard and the quality can still be good, as well.
