Just watched the Oliver Ortmann vs. Herb Lehman match. Does anyone know the whereabouts of Herb these days. In the mid-late 70" Herb and I used to play a lot of 14.1 in Torrington Ct. He sold me my first Gold Crown and after moving to SC we kind of lost touch with each other. It was really great to see him playing and I can recall loosing more than a few drinks to that stroke of his.

I'm pretty sure he's still in Torrington. Probably near the closest Bass Distribution center. I'm building a cue for his brother Danny, so next time I speak with him, I will double check. I try to meet up with him when he comes to Boston, but I haven't seen him in a couple of years.

Thanks, Danny is a great guy as well. Last I saw of him he had just finished renovating an old church buiding in Torrington into a home. Let me know if you can ge any contact info, phone etc for Herb.

I don't remember Herb ever having a phone. I can get your number to Danny if you want and he can pass it on to Herb.

Yep! Your right. I always got him through has mom and dad next door on thier phone. My number is 843-413-2735. Pass it along along with a Hi from me. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I got a call while I was out of the office. He did not leave any contact info so I can't get back to him. Maybe he will call again. Thanks for your help, even though we did not get the chance to talk, it was good to hear from him.

tony,

Just thought I'd let you know I finally heard from Herb Lehman. He is still in Torrington refinishing tables and playing a bit at the NY Atheletic Club. Thanks for helping me track him down. We had a great talk and I now have his contact info.

Mike

No problem. I heard last night he's headed to Europe to play Snooker. I should see Danny in a few weeks. His cue is finally almost finished.

Please say HI to Danny for me. I haven't seen him in years but sure recall his help in laying out the furniture design for my new home in Columbia SC many moons ago.

Here's an email I just got regarding Herb playing snooker:

"Just talked to Herbert Lehman and his brother Dan. Herb was part of a 3 man US team in Ireland for a Snooker Tourney. He won 2 trophies: best single overall record in the team event and won the singles event outright. He also had the second overall highest point game, beat by one point. Secret was the Guinness, too weak to get sloshed no matter how many barges on the Liffey full he drained. "

That is definately Herb. Heineken was his preferred brew when we hung out together but, a pint is a pint. It's great to hear he is not only still playing but evidently playing very well. I hope to get up to Conn. later this summer to visit with some old friends and hopefully will get to visit with him. Thanks so much for the update. Great to hear all about this.
