Here we go again!

Another Allison Fisher/Karen Corr final. It would be wise for the WPBA to pay these two to dump some tournaments in order to diversify the television matches. The viewers are getting burned out from repetitive winners. I'm a big fan of both Allison and Karen, but isn't there anybody out there who's a consistent threat to knock them off? When there has been other players on TV, the play has been sub-par at best(Barretta almost missing the cue-ball and Ga Young Kim plumber crack comes to mind). If they are truly that much better, then their winning ways will continue for many years to come. From a non-pool players perspective, I'd imagine that regular doses of Fisher/Corr matches and Trick Shot magic would become old. It's time for the WPBA to step in and pay them off before televised pool is completely eliminated.

I would also like to see more finals that aren't Corr vs Fisher, I think were gonna start seeing players like Kelly Fisher and GY Kim on TV alot more and a little less of Fisher and Corr. It would be good for the WPBA to get more faces on TV that was the beauty of the Florida tourny last year having extra TV matches gave the fans to see several new players for a change.

Unfortunitly, there is not a lot of competition for the women at that level. If there is going to be competition, it is going to come from young players like GY Kim and Kelly Fisher...

I disagree. No one should be dumping matches...especially paid to do so! Look at the past several TV matches...we haven't had a Corr v. A. Fisher match in quite sometime. There have actually been a few tourneys in the past 5 months where neither Corr nor A. Fisher made it to the TV rounds or the finals. Times are changing, as not only is K. Fisher vying for more championships, but we have past champions fighting for a comeback (Lee, Hofstadter, Nelson (???), etc...). Plus we have the newer faces fighting...and clearing their paths for getting that win. I don't see televised pool being eliminated due to the A. Fisher/Corr dominance. If anything it is being expanded. For the second year strait, the WPBA has been given more air time by ESPN. The WPBA has chosen to use a different format (last year in FL and this year in Peoria) in order to use this additional airtime to showcase some of the newer faces. For example last's years FL tourney resulted in the first ever TV appearance of Barretta and Seaver. Have no fear, I think WPBA televised matches will be around for a long time. I also believe that A. Fisher and Corr will have to fight to keep their TV status.....
