Herman Rambow for sale! Although I am aware that The BlueBook of Cues' cue values can be high (according to different people on this site) I am still attaching what TBBofC said this cue is worth based upon its features.

HERMAN RAMBOW : SECONDARY MARKET MINIMUM VALUES The following are minimum prices for Rambow cues, with authentication or provenance, encountered on the secondary market. These prices are representative of cues utilizing the most basic materials and designs that were available. Many Brunswick model cues are passed off as Rambow cues. Cues with provenance or authentication from a Rambow expert will command higher prices. Herman also offered one-of-a-kind cues that can command many times these prices due to the use of exotic materials and artistry. Early variations are becoming extremely collectible, and can also command many times these prices. Rambow was not known for his diversity in cue making, thus, the construction notes and corresponding values play a large role in valuing a Rambow cue.
Note: Due to the rarity of Herman Rambow cues and increasing interest, prices are on the rise. Fewer original examples are surfacing, and collectors are holding on to the ones they have. Unique examples with pedigree, and cues made for top professional and important players are demand the highest prices.
Special construction note: There are many materials and construction techniques that can add value to Rambow cues.
For all Rambow cues: Add $1,500+ for ivory joint.

PLEASE NOTE: I have indicated below with an asterisk *, which of the features this cue has!

Add $1,000+ for brown fiber joint.
Add $1000+ for ivory butt cap (not ivory "Hoppe" ring).
Add $1,500+ for "By Rambow" penciled on forearm. *
Add $500 for customer´s name penciled on forearm. *
Add $2500+ for important player´s name on forearm.
Add $1000+ for butt wood other than rosewood. *
Add $450+ for each additional original straight playable shaft with owner´s initials beyond two.
Deduct $450 for each missing original straight playable shaft with owner´s initials under two. *
Add $1000 for all-wood handle (no wrap).
Add $500 for original leather wrap.
Add $500 for original joint pin that is not brass.
Add $500 for each original bell-shaped ferrule.
Deduct up to 40% for obvious or improper refinish.

Below are percentages of cues condition and corresponding base value.

Level 2
- 0 points, 0-25 inlays.

Grading
Level 2 cues start at:

-----98%-----90%-----70%
---$3,000---$2,500---$1,500

Level 3
- 2-6 points, 0-8 inlays.

Grading
Level 3 cues start at:

-----98%-----90%-----70%
---$3,700---$3,250---$1,900

Level 4
- 4-10 points, 9-25 inlays.

Grading
Level 4 cues start at:

-----98%-----90%-----70%
---$8,000---$7,200---$4,150

This cue is at 75 - 80% condition and is a Level 3 cue, as confirmed by another cuemaker that is in the Hall of Fame. So according to the BlueBook of Cues, it has a base value of approx. $2,700.00. Add to that $1,500.00 for "by Rambow" on the forearm. Add $500.00 for the customer's name on the forearm. Add $1,000.00 since the butt is not rosewood. Deduct $450.00 since there is only one shaft with the cue.

The base value that this cue is appraised for, per The BlueBook of Cues is: $5,250.00

Again...it has been settled (at least to my satisfaction) that you just can't get BlueBook prices at this time. I just listed this so that you could see what the book stated. I accept the fact that what I will be selling it for will be wayyy below what the TBBofC stated! I have already received a couple offers in the $1,500.00 range so that price would be rock bottom of what I would consider.

There is a shadow in a couple of the pictures...not discoloration on the cue.

If you would like to PM some offers...feel free!

I knew I should have kept mine, but way back then, I thought I was making a lot on it selling it at $700.
Nice! Good luck on this sale.

Just curious?

Just curious as I don't know that much about cue appraisal. But how did you come up with the values above?? Not knocking your sale, I was just hoping to be informed as to how someone is able to break down specifics such as the one's you listed above.

Good luck with the sale. Peace!

That info is from the 3rd Edition of The Bue Book Pool Cues.
