Please beat me up If I'm wrong, but I think with with a staright stroke you shouldn't twist (turn, rotate) your cue, particularly on the final stroke. Ever run across a shaft that has a 'hex' shape (like a hex wrench) that would help you sense and avoid twisting? I think this would be useful for someone trying to refine their stroke. Comments?

Not hex but I've seen triangular shafts.
Yes, twisting of the cue is not desired. It's a sign that there is an issue with the grip/wrist.
I suppose a hex shaft would give tactile feedback on twisting, but would be more inconvenient and expensive that necessary.
Simply marking the shaft will provide visual feedback on twisting. Small round labels work well, but other methods can easily be used on the fly and don't cost anything. You could use a piece of tape, tie a string around the shaft, or a rubber band to name a few.
