Just wondering why you dont put up a separate sub-forum for the women's US Open and National Nine ball championships, etc. , similar to the sub forums for the mens tourney's and other events?

It would be nice to not have to browse through numerous threads in various parts of the forum to find out what's going on.

Is this something you can set up for future events Mike?

Hey, great minds think alike! LOL. (I was just thinking this exact same thing a couple of days ago.) What do you think, Mike? :)

U finally came out of your hiding.Good to hear from u.

Not to mention the main story on the homepage is Mika winning some tournament. Why isn't Allison's picture up there? It is the U.S. Open you know!

I have to disagree with this. Subforums are for tournaments that generate many threads. WPBA events, other than the Women's BCA Open, typically only generate a few threads.

In addition, the suggestion that the Women's US Open is a premier event relative to other WPBA events is in error. For the most part, the event has the exact same field as all other WPBA events. The prize fund is a little higher than in some other WPBA events, but the exact same number of ranking points are available at the Women's US Open as any other WPBA event.

The only WPBA event that stands tall above the rest is the Women's BCA Open, made very special by the fact that so many spots are reserved for European and Asian players that don't play the WPBA tour. The women's BCA Open generates dozens of threads and, quite fittingly, always has its own subforum.

Hi Vagabond! Not hiding, just really busy lately. :) Thanks for all your Open updates! Almost made me feel like I was there again. LOL.

Can I sound like a chauvinist? I didn't see how many women played in the Open, but there are probably 2-4 times as many in the Men's US open. Also, I don't care for the extra ones anyhow! I have dial up, and after about an hour, I have looked at 5 pages!

There is no point to having a seperate forum for the ladies events. Karen Corr and Alison Fisher are winning 98% of those tournaments. How many threads should we dedicate to that! Corr wins, Fisher wins, Corr wins, Fisher wins, Corr wins, Fisher wins.......what else is new...

No doubt Allison Fisher has dominated the 2005 WPBA campaign, but in 2004, the eight WPBA rankings events produced five different champions - Allison Fisher, Karen Corr, Julie Kelly, Ga Young Kim and Jeanette Lee.

Womens pool is dominated by non-U.S. players!....Come on!.....Someone start kickin some azz please...I'm so sick of watchiing Allison and that little smirk....of course I respect all of thier abilities, but damn!, someone step up!...I bet it will be a free wheeling, phillipino style U.S. player who was a road agent, now wants to snap off the tour. Sounds like a good story anyway:)....G

Well if you take away Fisher and Corr, that makes only 3 different champions, so I will correct myself and say Corr and Fisher only win 97% of the women's tournaments. Jeanette Lee, Kelly and Ga Young Kim make up the other 3%.

All of these ladies play some great pool. But Fisher & Corr just dominate it and once in awhile, players like Lee, Kelly and Kim will take a title or two from them.

I'm definitely with you on this one buddy. Until there is sufficient interest shown I don't see the need to start a subforum for the WPBA events, with the exception of the BCA Open.

Unfortunately, I don't think the challenge is going to come from a US player just yet...but look out for my new fav girl player, (non American I know), Ga Young Kim!...if it takes an Asian invasion to show that Ally and Karen can be beat, then I'll take it...Come on, Tiffany, Jennifer B., Melissa, Sarah R., Monica!

Well ...

If Allison is going to keep on winning, someone needs to
tell her to use some hairspray on the sides of her hair.
I am sick of seeing her hair flop down in front of her face,
covering up half of it till she pushes back. The street urchin
look is not good for TV.

Um, yeah, you're doing a fine job sounding like a chauvinist...

The women's Open isn't open. There would be more women playing in that tournament if it was truly an Open tournament.

The Men's open is almost open, it's open only to men. There would be more women playing in that tournament if it was truly an Open tournament.

Hey SPetty,

The NM Open a few days ago had several women in it. Monica Webb placed the highest of the ladies (fifth?), others were Helena Thornfeild, Mellisa Little, Anna Kostanian along with several non-pros.

BTW Shane Van Boening won.

I'd love to see a truely OPEN style championship. Anyone can enter, put up thier money and play. No seeding, no bye's, nothing, just the first come first play and no preferential treatment for anyone......G

I'd love to see that happen. Hopefully it'll happen in our lifetime :)
