Hi sweetie, had a good showin Vegas. Came home two days early [ left friday morning],so I could take Janice to see a new specialist Dr.

Did real good with my new cue designs. Sold 63 cues, over all. Got more customs on order.

Got to call Pel, and send him some new "blud poles".

I had a good time or as good as a time as you can have in
Vegas and getting sick.
Right after the Tripple Play event I bolted out and headed home.
Its not nice to be sick in Vegas. It came on all of a sudden but is still
fighting with me.
I did get to shake hands with Pelican and Blud. That was about the length
of the meeting as our team was in a match at the moment.
It looked like a good time.
We did finish 5th in the 3man event but we should ahve gotten higher.
Our lead off won and I played and came back to get it hill to hill and
then got a touch touchy with a shot and missed. My opponnet ran out and made a very nice/tough bank on the 8. Next year i guess.

Did meet some nice folks playing but would have liked to get Bluds
opinion on a thing or two and BS with Pelican.
Hope everyone else had a good time and did not get sick

Maybe there was something going around there. I got sick too, didn't dare eat or drink anything including water the day I flew home. A lot of Pepto-Bismal got me through the flight. Oh well, at least it waited 'til I was through playing. :) My team made it 4 rounds in the 9-ball. The team we lost to ultimately came in 2nd.
Met Blud very briefly at Katy's. He seemed more interested in my wife than me. Hmmmm, what's up with that Blud? :D
All in all a good time poolwise, but the smoke was pretty bad. Man, pool players are the smokingist people! I was disappointed with the "expo" part of it, Blud was the ONLY custom cue maker I saw set up unless you count Mike Sigel. Alan Hopkins thing in Valley Forge is 100 times better in that regard.
Vegas I could do without, I don't drink or gamble and there isn't much left of Vegas when you cut that layer off, just a bunch of lights and chincy shows.

I find that a good deal of people get sick in Vegas. Stats have shown that it is possible that people get sick from all of the different bugs (viruses) that others bring in from all over the world. Then you get stuck in the hotel and on the airplaines with all the recycled air.

I manage to get a wicked sinus infection the first week I get to Vegas. Happens everytime. :(

So there you go, if your not sick from a virus, guarenteed you will be sick from the buffet at thr Riv! :D

Eydie ~ Hope that all who have come back from Vegas are feeling better!

There you go. We had free tixs for the Riv's buffet! Now you tell me. :)

Seems that I was not the only one who got a wicked sinus infection. We won the triple play event :D and we stayed the rest of the week and played in the minis. We did quite well in those also. We will return next year to defend our title. Cut and paste this address to see our team (Pool Junkies).

Congrats B
We will be back next year to take your title!!
Glad it was someone I know that won it. You guys
have a very strong team and you guys played well.
I would have liked to see us and you guys in the finals.
It would have been 7 out of the eight finalist from AL.
Congrats again
frankncali

PS.
Only regret is that I did not feel bad enough not to get mixed up
in that game in the practice room :) Live and learn I guess.

Oh, Blud, I meant to tell ya, Brian (Cycopath) played in one of the final minis on Friday night and won. Picked up 160 bucks for the effort. Will said to tell ya he came down Friday morning to help ya load but you was gone like a wild goose in winter. Oh yea, every time I saw Gracie I would do the thing with my arm on my face. She would howl. What a hoot.

Enjoyed meeting Frank and Rick. Wish I could have found more folks from the forum. Next time I will know more about what to expect.

Was that your first time Pel ??

My first time I was so taken back by the size of the place and the
stuff to do.
I have been a few times now and have been to the BCA as well and
I still never get tired of walking around and looking at the booths and
watching people.
Most everyone is very friendly and when you see them next year they will
stop and say hi and shoot the breeze a little.

I am still hopeful of coming to Gradys event in Dec. Right now it looks
pretty good.

Other people have made that observation too and fortunately all my children basically got her looks. Whew!
As my aunt used to say about my uncle: "When he stops looking, start shovelling dirt on his face, he's dead!"

Nice meeting you as well, and I was glad to hear your wife is making good progress.

It was a pleasure meeting you too, Pel. It’s always strange walking up to someone you’ve never met but you’re sorta familiar with for reading their posts. Thanks for not making me feel like a goofball. Hope you had a good time.

Unfortunately, my wife and I got sick along with many others I see. We cut our visit short and returned home earlier than planed. But, for a few days we did have a lot of fun.

I also got a chance to meet Blud. He was very kind towards my wife as well. Dusted off his chair and insisted that my wife make herself comfortable while I ogled and drooled over Blud’s cues. After returning home, I found out one of my friends brought a great looking Bludworth cue. With the price he paid for it though, I don’t know how Blud made any money on it.

Hey Frank, this was my fifth trip to Vegas but my first time at APA. Was in awe to see so many pool tables in one room. My wife did get a bit ill in the stomach once but it never bothered me. Hopefully our team will do well enough to return next year and we will be better prepared for what to expect. And this time, I PROMISE, I'm going to one of the girly shows!!! :D Was going to go to the Jaguar Club friday night but just pooped out before I made it.

Later, from an old tired, Pel :(

Leonard, I really appreciate the offer. You know how it is when you are gone from your business for a few days. Takes some time to get things caught up. Roger, Kristina, and my friend Bill did a great job of keeping things going but there are things that only the 'old man' can do. As you know there are customers that only want to deal with 'the boss'. Hell to be popular :D .

We will get together sooner or later and take a 'road trip'. Maybe one that has nothing to do with pool cues or pawn shops. Might even pick up the long lean fella along the way - long as he don't drive  .

Be careful my friend, Pel
