Yea my friend bought one of those.. it worked well. It was just to baulky to carry around I thought. I use a small predator one in my bag. any bigger then that and I just use a rake.

We have several APA Two's who can jump balls in like a pro but can not run three or four balls let alone a rack. IMHO, it is no badge of honor. Just a skill he has, just like hundreds of others. I'd prefer to see him play against a real opponent and show his true speed.

Are you talking about using a jump cue ...which is not legal in apa except in masters.?
I have been playing apa for 6 years and have almost 1,300 matches in and have never seen any one lower than a 5 even attempt a jump shot and that's using a full cue.
I dont doubt what you say Lynn but I find it amazing a 2 could jump like you describe even using a jump cue ....which btw no apa players around here even own a jump cue except those who play masters .

If you have twos who can jump straight in long shots like Dom they are sandbagging. To be able to do anything really well is a badge of honor. I have known Dom a long time and never had a problem with him. He can also cut balls in feather thin over and over and lots of other things. If he comes to your area challenge him to a match and let us know how you do.
Were you at last months SBE? Marty Carey had a booth featuring his branded jump cue. Every time I walked by, there were young kids being shown how to jump. Not just short shots but the long difficult ones. His cue is that "good" anyone can be an expert. My comment to you was Sarge's jumping ability is just one talent. It does not show a players true ability to play the entire game. He blovates as if he is or was a top championship level player. We both know he is and was not. He is an animated salesman with an interesting "hook" until proven otherwise Lets leave it at that.
Incidentally, I met the World Champion Long Distance driver years ago. Asked him why he wasn't on the main pro tour. He only has to hit one ball as far as he can. Doesn't even have to be straight down the fairway. Doesn't have to chip or putt. Just drive a golf ball as far as possible!

Yes I went by and talked to Marty for a minute. He was missing many long shots as his cue is designed to make very close shots. He was able to make some long shots while we visited but missed most and none were the long straight in shoot and stop the cue ball like Dom does. Marty can shoot close up jump shots with the best of them.
On a side note I was showing how to jump in the middle of the table with my Road Bridge and McDermotts player rep came over and said let me try it. He took my bridge and set it aside and jumped the shot one handed and smiled and said people no longer need my product.
I later talked to him about his trick shot abilities. He told me that he does not do trick shots, but has to play one handed to get a game in his country and had to learn to jump one handed to be able to win.
Let me know how you do against Dom if you ever play him.
