Hi Pinklady!

Just realized-
I do believe you're up to invite The President to The Mosconi Cup!:rotflmao1:
We can start early this year!

Might not be a good time, Angel...
...since they went off-shore for the coaching job....

The guy-

Snappy

But really,
I know the guy-the guy is pretty damn good, both as a person and as a coach.

He actually wants to help, he don't gotta.
He came up like the rest of us, fascinated with Johnny and Buddy and Earl and Efren,
"The Hustler" & "The Color of Money"

The United States is the home of American Pool and he loves American Pool and Mosconi Cup is American Pool, NOT any other kind of Pool-

from Johan's mouth to my ears,
"Why wouldn't I want to help (the thing I love?)"

This is me saying: You guys gotta get over whatever ego/pride nonsense is rattling around in your head as far as a foreign coach goes.

Should Alex Pagulayan never show anything to our guys cause he's Filipino and challenges Shane and other Americans?
OR
Should we all take a moment and learn something from Alex?

I just don't feel great about it all....'cause Jay Helfert made an extremely generous offer...
....and he's got ALL the creds to do the job.

I'd give you a greenie for this but it won't let me. Here, here sir.

It's comparing an apple & an orange Angel. Alex showing some young guns some moves in a poolroom is not the same as bringing in a foreigner to coach an American team for a match against a team from where the foreigner is from, it just isn't. It was made worse by wedging in JA as an "assistant" after the backlash that was the American response.

We have people here, in America, that can bring cohesion & coach our guys up to a victory. As PT already pointed out, Jay Helfert made a very generous offer & is imminently qualified. Mike Zuglan would be another option as well and I could go on. This was a mistake, that simple, a bad idea.

No argument-

I know Jay, I love and respect Jay, and in no way do I snub my nose at his generous offer or his abilities as player, handicapper, commentator, referee or captain.

What I am saying is sharing knowledge is sharing knowledge, and we should take knowledge from every source offered, whether it's Dutch, Pinoy or whatever.

I just listened to the American Billiard Radio interview with Matchroom Sport's Billiard Division Manager Luke Riches, in which Mike Howerton asks him directly why they picked Johan.

I also know, like and respect Mike Zuglan and I know how hard he works with regard to Turning Stone.

You're preaching to the choir.
I'm on OUR side!
You'd struggle to find someone who is more on our side and the side of cue sports and the people who play, than me.
