"Hey, where's your break cue?"

I must live a very sheltered life... I have no problem lending my equipment to most of the people I know in the "pool community", and have done so many, many times with no bad consequences. Obviously I would not lend them to a "known jerk". "Players that would not respect my cues" would never ask to use them... they know better...

I guess another big factor is that I do not play in "bars" and thus eliminate the "alcohol" factor.
Also, I play pretty well and am respected and liked by most of the people in the area.

The only time I refuse to lend my cues, is when I am presently using them or when I am playing in a tournament and someone asks to use my J/B. I feel that they should have/bring their own and "why should I let someone beat me with MY equipment?".

On the other side of the coin... I don't know anyone that would not lend ME their cues... if I asked... ( I don't ask).
They know how I treat my own equipment and that I would treat theirs at least as good and thus would not hesitate to lend me their stuff.

On the whole, I see very little loaning/borrowing of equipment at any time. People around here seem to have their own stuff or make do without.

Actually this just popped into my head while reading this thread.

Next time, someone askes you where your break cue is, just point to the wall where all the house cue's are, and say, " It's over there on the wall "
