Hi new here!!!

Hi I'm new here and was looking for a new cue. I see everyone wants money send through PayPal ff doesn't this take away any insurance from PayPal? Thanks

If you're worried about paying the 3% fee to PayPal to possibly save 100's or 1000's of dollars then you should probably reduce your budget enough to cover the expense.

It's your money, protect it.

And

I can’t top Duesenberg, not even Bugatti covers that. Back in the late 80’s possibly earlier to the early 90’s there was a collection of 20-23 of them on display at the Imperial Palace on the 6th floor. The owner of that casino had his car collection in display there. There was a separate room for the Duesenbergs.

When he passed away I happened to be working in Beverly Hills near the Rolls dealer 93-95, I saw a transporter(closed of course) with part of that collection in it-not sure how many were in it. Years later after I got to know Tom Ogara who still owns the Rolls dealership, I asked him about those cars. He assisted in selling/auctioning/moving them. They were the best of the best Duesenbergs.

Many years after that I was in Jay Leno’s garage-was 2011 for sure. He had 5-6 of them. And only one was anywhere near nice as the average ones from the Vegas collection. And Jay(nicest guy ever) has loads of amazing cars.

It was a shame that collection Ralph Engelstad (sp?) put together was broken up when he passed. There could have been a provision as there was sufficient $ to keep that collection whole, some how. Like the Getty museum does with its collections.

They were art

I was lucky to have seen them many times as I lived walking distance to the Strip for a few years.

Nice story, I'd love to get to Jay's garage sometime.

I have to disagree with the Bugatti statement though, his 1928 Bugattie Type 27A is probably one of my favorite cars that he owns.

Jay is the nicest guy ever. I see him at car things now and then for the past 20 years around LA. He loves cars more than anything. We know each other but don’t keep in regular touch. He’s so knowledgeable about cars-wow!

His garage is amazing, someday I think he’s going to make it public-that’s just my guess. Maybe there are plans to already. I’m not sure, I haven’t been keeping up with the car scene last few years. I kinda got tired of cars-not sure why.

Showing my age here. I cried when Reno's Harrah car museum collection was sold off. Never has been a collection like it since. Impossible to see it all in one day...I tried to do so a couple of times.

Have you been to the Peterson Museum in LA? That place is amazing.
Nope...but I've heard nothing but good about it. The old Harrahs museum covered literally acres of car displays. He ran shuttle busses from his casino to the Museum in Sparks. I'd guess at least 500 cars...touring it gave me an obvious lesson about gambling. ;)

Who'd a thunk you were cultured?? ;)

Ah, the Imperial Palace. I think it was my first trip to Vegas. I found a low limit seven card stud game at the Imperial Palace, and I spent all my time in their card room. My friends and I might have spent the night there. I remember we had 4-5 people in one room, which was $6/night.

I happened to be wearing a Pearl Izumi hat while I played poker:

and a couple of people asked me where I got my Imperial Palace hat. :)

I dont know what Duesenbergs go for but some of the pre-war Bugatti's with a racing pedigree can fetch over $4 million.

The replicas made by Pur Sang are roughly 10% of the cost of actual cars. When I first heard about them they were in the 200-300K range (so 2-3 million for an actual car). Your number of $4 million is pretty spot on for one now.

I'd like to build a replica and power it with an electric motor, that would be fun.
