hiding your identity to increase action potential

I saw this picture posted recently in another forum, and I always get
a laugh out of it. I know what regional tour this is from, and I even
considered using the ski mask I had in my Jeep, when I backed a very good
player, and also played myself in one of their tournaments.

It is really indicative of the state of pool in the area, and how tough it is
to get action, especially when your face becomes known.

I don't know if this is a common practice, but it seems the pictures with
winners wearing masks, have been taken off the website for the tour. I hope
you folks enjoy the picture as much as I do. I would also love to hear about
similar situations, or stories about disguising identities to be able to get a game.

Wow breakup,

I thought the guy on the right was actually Williebetmore who stole the trophy from the real winner just to get his picture on the AZB tournament result forum.

That would be a reasonable first guess. He has been known to pull similar shenanigans.

wow, thanks for the link to the older post

Many thanks for the link to that older post. I sure miss that
room. It closed about 6 months ago. And I had forgotten that
the picture was doctored to cover the face of the person on the
left, and the original picture showed his face.

By the way, pros, opens, As, Bs, Cs, and Ds are allowed in those
tournaments. There is no handicapping, but the better your rating
the higher the entry fee is.

Just as a note:

As the director of the Viking Tour this is how I deal with players that refuse to have their photo's taken after the event.

There are two options and it's pretty simple.

Option #1
When you win we snap your photo and you get pd in csh at the event.
Option #2
If you refuse to have your photo taken you still get paid but it's in the form of a check and comes with a 1099 for Uncle Sam.

I don't know why but everyone seems to pic option #1.
