High Rollin'

On a recent jaunt with Tin man we got high rolled a little.

Not on this trip, but, historically speaking Here are some of my high rollin' favorites...

Do you want to play some cheap? Like $30 or $40 a game barbox 9 ball?

Nice shot (laugh and sneer) let's see you do it for a thousand!

The loser of the first set automatically asking to quadrouple the bet.

Any other favorites?

Maybe I'm a little too much of a gentleman for gambling on pool. I guess I'm not a typical gambler because my goal with matching up is to challenge myself and not rob somebody. I usually like to set the price per set and just play until someone quits. If someone beats me I usaually shake their hand and go on with life.

Well, my personal favorite is when you beat someone in a tournament and as they shake your hand they want to try you some after the tournament for whatever.

That is such a disrespectful move.
 
I dogged it forgetting that one.

That is the hieght of being an A-hole. Next time tell them...

Nah, let's just have an "act like an A-hole contest" but you'll have to give me the 6 out.
 
"You want to play $500 sets?...........Oh,you mean "practice" sets?"

when I get high rolled, I usually tell the guy that I will play him for twice the amount that he offered, anytime, any place, any game. Then, when he says "let's play right now!", I simply say, "sorry, I have somewhere to be." Then I go hit balls with someone else for a few hours for $10 a set.

Once in a while this even prompts them to offer me a spot...........

High rolling is simply part of gambling. If I think that someone will get out of their comfort zone if the money goes up then I wont play them cheap. Also, in the instance you are speaking of, I would definitely not offer you a spot, but you might get referred to as a nit several times throughout the night.

Tinman is kinda joking.
Our last trip he pulled up after breaking even for 4 hrs. and after I played the same guy and won a set (the guy pulled up after one set) the guy got steamed and gave the 8 out and lost to Tin-it was actually strange and funny.
His humor was a little too "inside-ish"
Or I could be wrong and he is a nit....yeah, he's probably just a nit.
 
This reminds me of a long time ago I was in one of the local pool halls and someone came in and asked the bartender if there was anyone who would play a money game at which point he steered him to me since I was the best int he place at the time, which in itself is a sad statement...lol. Anyway, the guy came over to me and asked if I wanted to play some and I asked him what he had in mind. Right out of the gate he threw out $200 to $300 which was waaay out of my price range so I immediately responded with, "Sorry, I don't usually play for less than a thousand."

The look on his face was priceless and he, of course, called BS. I ended up going back and forth with him arguing whether or not I had the money and proceeded to continue playing with the person I was playing with. I don't know if he was putting on a show for me but when he was playing with his buddy he was god awful...lol.
