High Run on American Snooker Table?

Most snooker tables I've seen in many different poolrooms in my state have extremely tight pockets that will BARELY fit a snooker ball. I'm not sure if you can call this "American snooker", because maybe the regulation snooker tables with much bigger pockets are more common. But from what I've seen in alot of poolhalls, we mainly have the really tight ones. A ball that is anywhere in the vincinity of a rail will not go into a corner pocket. When I see English snooker tables, the pockets are much larger and more forgiving. You can actually cheat the pocket on those tables. I am wondering if anyone knows of a 147 ran on one of these incredibly tight American tables?

Not likely!

The American snooker tables (10' or 12') are usually set up for guys to play Golf. They want those pockets so tight that none can "run out" and the game takes a longer time. The standard "official " snooker tables have a fair amount of space in the opening. A "rail shot" can be made on "REAL" snooker table.
The "Golf" table at Hardtimes , Bellflower CA is so tight that if the ball is 3" in front of the pocket..it WILL NOT go in ...if hit with any firm speed.

we have had a few pros come to town to do exhibitions and i have seen cliff thorburn run somewhere in the 130's, im not sure if there is much difference between the tables here in canada and your american snooker tables, but i am sure if players can run that high that a 147 is acheivable.
