Would the $160,000 that Efren won a couple years ago be the highest? Of course, that was a pro event.

I was at that trournament in Tokyo, and also played in it. Needless to say me and my good friend Dan Janes of JOSS CUES, both stunk up Tokyo with our playing. [We both forgot why we quit play pro pool years ago].There were PRO's from all over the world. I would think it was an all pro event with the exception of me and Dan.

Effren didn't do too bad in the "thrilla in Manila" picking up 20K for 1st place. In the states they have the $50K challenge every now and again. Maybe those who want to promote pool here should take a trip to Manila and see what they do that they can have these nice payouts. This weekend Tiger played terribly (for him) shooting a 4 over 76 and finished 4th. His paycheck for the 4 days came to $220,000. I guess we shouldn't feel too sorry for him. J.L. Lewis (who) finished 70th, shot a got awful 85 and still managed to take in $10,100. Annika had a $180,000 payday. While Jenny Lidback, finished 70th and received $2,500. Pool needs to change something if they want the bigger payouts. Instead they keep doing the same thing over and over and keep expecting a different outcome. Jake
