Kind of in between a conical taper and a pro taper. Reasonably low deflection compared to other solid shafts,
but still gets through the ball pretty well.
Great new cue from the great people at Schmelke. I paid extra on top of the baseline sneaky price for
various upgrades. They are: premium highly figured bocote, premium select shaft wood, xtc lightweight
ferrule, 60 inch length, maple hoppe ring, bocote joint rings. I had them make it without the Schmelke logo.
There currently no a cavity for a weight bolt, only for the bumper, as I wanted it solid. Any cuemaker or
repairman could easily drill a hole if you wanted a weight bolt cavity. The joint rings are also bocote.
