I say go for both of them. You can never have too many lathes. Ok I know this isn't practical. Do a search on this subject. There is a plethera of information and alot of opinions.
Unique products cue maker lather would get my vote, at the end of the day they are both nice decent machines. Uniques add on the taper shaper is awesome. The cue maker lathe is a little more expensive but in my opinion built a little bit better. I am interested to hear other people's opinions.
Do a search and you will see that the Deluxe is where you will get the most bang for your buck and lmost all cuemakers have one. It is a work horse and it will do everything you want to out of the box from tapering shafts to... whatever your imagination takes you...
