I have just had one of these installed on my Scorpion player (which I'm in the process of upgrading) & I have to say after using a Le Pro tip for years the difference is phenomenal. (To me anyway)

The amount of action I can impart on the CB without much effort is incredible & if a hard cue tip is your preferred choice then I cannot recommend this tip highly enough, it holds chalk extremely well & should you need to it handles extreme side very well.

Overall I'd give it 5/5.

Do you have other tip experiences for comparison? LePro is one of the few tips that I just don’t like, for reasons I have not figured out. I have gotten pretty tired of the weekly threads asking which tip is the best. But in those threads, the tip that does not get much discussion and that I would be interested in learning more about is Hirano. The pictures make their tips appear to be well-built, but fast food looks a lot better in the advertisements than when you receive it in the box.

If you like the hirano then you will love the G2 hard tip , I have tried both and the G2 is a more durable of the tips. I've also tried outsville ki tips and still the G2 out performed it.

I'm so sorry sealegs50 I have no other points of reference tip wise as I had used the same Le Pro tip since I got my current playing cue in 09 up until last week when changed to the Hirano Hard tip.

Like octy81, my current favorite is G2 Hard. Kamui Clear Black Medium and Instroke Hard are also excellent tips that I own and still use. A couple of years ago, I orderd a shaft with a Hirano Hard that was never delivered. So I didn't get the chance to try it out. I've been curious, but will continue to work with the three tips I mentioned.

I agree what a difference I installed a Kamui BLACK CLEAR TIP (SUPER SOFT
on one shaft and a Hirano Medium on another and the spin, grip and feedback of the Hirano is amazing :)

This is why Hirano cue tips are constructed from only the most select domestic pig skins.

They are very hard to produce because only the thickest pig skins are used in making these tips.

Where other tips may require 8 or more layers to achieve the same thickness Hirano tips only use 4 layers.

The Hirano brand has been tested by select consumers and business officials and they look to be the next big thing.

The 4 layers of high quality Japanese pig skin help dramatically reduce the risk of miscuing.

The tip maintains its original thickness for a long time due to less glue and more leather.
