holding time

If you are holding something that you have for sale,for someone that wants to buy it. what do you think would be a reasonable time to hold it?
I have the micarta ferrules that I have been holding for over 2 months waiting for a couple of people to get their money together, and I am talking about 100.00-250.00 dollars not a lot of money. Should I put a time frame on it or just hold till something happens for them.
Thanks I like to be fair with everyone it makes life easier.
But after several months then they change their mind then I am out.

Gotta communicate with the parties involved. You have been more the fair, considering. Get in touch and put a clock on the situation.

There is no standard answer for this question...heaps of variables apply...but two months would be past my window in almost every case.

You're too patient - I wouldn't have waited more than a week, two weeks max. I'd find another customer and if they tried to get involved again, tell them to drop dead.
